Naoussa and the Venetian Castle
Naoussa is the most picturesque place not only in Paros but probably in the Cyclades! We recommend you take a morning walk around and see all the small alleys of the settlement while shopping in the wonderful shops. You can easily do this in Autumn when the sun is not dangerous.
The Venetian castle of Naoussa is located on the sea, a few meters from the waterfront. It dates back to the 15th century and was built in an attempt by the island to protect itself from the Ottomans and the pirates who were sailing the Mediterranean Sea at the time.
Kolympithres and Piperi beaches
These are two of the most famous beaches of Paros and we recommend them for your holidays in Autumn because they are beautiful and uncrowded. Of course, it’s worth swimming in all the wonderful beaches of Paros, but in these two there is natural shade under the tamarisk trees.
In the tourist season, it is impossible to find a free spot of shade, but in Autumn it is very likely to enjoy the golden beach and crystal-clear waters, relaxing in a quiet spot. To get there you need a vehicle. In general, the island is quite big so one tip before visiting is to rent a car at Paros port if you are visiting by ship or in the Paros airport.
Lefkes Village
In autumn it is very romantic to take leisurely walks in the alleys and if you want to go somewhere far away from tourism, then the village of Lefkes is a must!
Lefkes is located on the mainland of the island, in a mountainous area. You can walk along the narrow streets, admire the old, whitewashed houses, the bougainvilleas hanging from the balconies of the houses, and enjoy the wonderful view of Naxos.
Usually, the village is suitable to visit early in the morning or the evening because it is very hot, but with a little luck in September, the temperature will be more pleasant.
Don’t forget to visit the Suma Festival
Feast of suma (local tsipouro). Local sausages and steaks, octopus, and fresh squid will be cooked around the fire of the rakokazan.
Parians try the new souma and taste the local food. With the accompaniment of island music, they feast, sing, and dance. This process is a first-class opportunity for a small festival.
